Fire in Hastings
The Otago Hospital Board has decided to advertise for a fulltime tuberculosis director and a fulltime psychiatrist, each post carrying a salary of £ISOO, plus £IOO teaching
A fire which broke out shortly bc"ore midnight, on Thursday night comnletely destroyed the auction mart of Gordeon Walker, Limited, Russell - hiding the office records, were a total loss. It is estimated that the loss is between £ISOO and £2OOO. Everything was in order when the premises closed at 5.30 p.m., and it is not known how the fire occurred. The insurance on the buildings was £4OO.
