If the Government now had no policy on the vital problem of migration it deserved censure and not encouragement” said t'ne Leader ol the Opposition. Mr. R. G. Menzies. in announcing the refusal by the Liberal Party of the invitation of the '■'ctin" Prime Minister. Mr. J. B. Chifley, to participate in the all-party Parliamentary committee to advise the Government upon migration. Mr Menzies qualified the Liberal Party’s refusal by saying that the decision would be reconsidered if the Government would present its policy for open discussion by Parliament. Tlie suggestion for an all-party committee on migration was made by the Country Party leader. Mr. A. W Fadden and the Country Party had indicated its willingness to co-oper-ate with the Government.
