Chifley, to participate in the all-party Parliamentary committee to advise the Government upon migration. Mr Menzies qualified the Liberal Party’s refusal by saying that the decision would be reconsidered if the Government would present its policy for open discussion by Parliament. Tlie suggestion for an all-party committee on migration was made by the Country Party leader. Mr. A. W Fadden and the Country Party had indicated its willingness to co-oper-ate with the Government.
