MARCH OF DEATH

CAPTIVESOF NAZIS MASSACRE ON JOURNEY N.Z. & CANADIAN VICTIMS LONDON, June 28. New Zealanders and Canadians were among the 1000 political prisoners who died in a massacre by the Germans in Bohemia and Moravia. The Prague radio, in reporting this, said that the mass graves in which the victims were buried would be opened in the next few days. The radio stated that last April a convoy of 822 political prisoners, which included Russians, Poles, French, Czechs, Yugoslavs, Belgians and Dutch, left Johanngeorgenstadt on the Saxon-Czech border for Theresienstradt, north-west of Prague. On the journey prisoners from other camps joined the convoy. After 20 days only 23 prisoners remained, more than 1000 having been shot or starved to death. Two Czechs, who escaped, have identified 22 mass ■ graves of their comrades. They also identified a stormtrooper named Fink who is in custody and who admitted that he shot 300 of the prisoners.
