SHOOT DOWN COMRADES SIGNS OF WEAKNESS LONDON, April 23 The German radio announcer broke into the programme to say that German reserves from the west are flowing into Berlin. "They have not come very far, but their coming is inspiring Berlin's defenders with new hope and courage,” said the announcer. “These soldiers arc looking serious; They know what is at stake,”
He then enjoined German soldiers to shoot their comrades like dogs if they want to retreat. ”Wc have no time to argue with the chickenhearted. The battle is too fierce.” ‘The “Werewolves” radio station, broadcasting to Berliners, said: “The battle of Berlin has reached such a violence that many cannot withstand the terror. They are becoming weak and cowardly. You who are courageous must rise and take the leadership.”*
