Very little sugar is now available in Melbourne, as a result of a strike of workers at the Yarraville works of the Colonial Sugar Company. The men have‘ been on strike since Wedr.osday, and have twice refused to < bey the order of the Conciliation Commissioner to resume work. mit workers. The strike originated over a claim ;f certain refinery employees engaged mloading raw sugar from a ship at he refinery wharf for casual wharf abourers’ rates of pay.
