An N.Z.E.F. Official News Service message from Rome says the lion. D. G. Sullivan paid formal, calls at Vatican City and was received by Pope Pius and the British Minister, Sir Darcy Osborne. The Minister spent 20 minutes in private audience with the Pope and later presented members of his party to His Holiness. The Pope expressed great interest in and a wide knowledge of New Zealand affairs and asked Mr. Sullivan to convoy a message of greeting and goodwill to the Prime Minister and the people of the Dominion.
