FAREWELL PARTY The Cook Street Hall was filled to overflowing recently when Mr. and Mrs. ,1. Gordon, Stanley road, and Mr. and Mr.;. C. Mills, Childers road, gave a delightful nnrtv for their daughters, Miss Kathrine Gordon, end Miss Audrey Mills, and also for Miss Thelma Glassford and Miss Phyllis Torrie. A programme of dance numbers, the music for which was contributed by M -s. Gordon (piano) and Mr. J. Worsfold (violin) was interspersed with games and an English according solo by Mr. A. Purcell. During the evening Mr. Purcell, in a happy manner, conveyed the good wishes and congratulations of their friends to the chief guests, who have since left for the south to resume their studies at the Wellington Teachers' Training College. The singing of "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows" followed. Mr. and Mrs. W. McKengue and a number of friends assisted in the serving of the delicious supper. BON VOYAGE PARTY Mrs. J. M, Coen, who has been farewellod informally prior to her departure for America, was recently the chief guest at :t delightful five o'clock party given by Mr;-.. W Ogilvie and Mrs. T. Fraser, at the home of the former in Cobden street, the occasion affording about 70 friends an opportunity nf offering their good wishes. Mixed flowers 'll pastel tonings provided an artistic decorative scheme. Mrs.. Ogilvie was wearing a graceful frock of black georgette, accented with a shoulder spray of delicate pink flowers and maidenhair fern. An elegant frock of multi-coloured floral cloque and a shoulder spray of npricnl gladioli were worn by Mrs. Fraser. Mrs. Coen looked smart in a frock of blue and gold shot lame. HOY—RIGNEY At, St. Mary's Catholic Church recently Patricia Florence, elder daughter of Mrs. it*. Rigney and the late Mr. A. L.
