HIGHER POSTS BUREAUX MINISTRY "OF LABOUR LONDON, .Tan. 5. The Ministry of Labour is establishing a higher appointments branch which will have .IP, regional headquarters in London and in provincial i-iiies at which men of all classes in business and professions, above the level of foremen and clerks, can seek posts and employers seek men, according to a White Paper published yesterday. The plan is the result of the recommendations of a committee representative of industry, commerce ancl the universities. Mr. J. S. Duncan, deputy High Commissioner, who represented Australia, is believed to be the first representative of the Dominions to sit on a committee which has been appointed to advise the British Home Department. The High Commissioners oi New Zealand, South Africa and Indochina nominated observers for the meetings. Close attention is now to ue given to Lne prospects of post-war overseas employment.
