WHALE-FLESH GIFT
As a gesture of sympathy with the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Strauss, and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Hol'meyr, who told the Mayor of Johannesburg that they had had no meal in their homes for two weeks. Mr. J. T. Gilmour. a Durban butcher, sent them 51b of whale meal. In a telegram In Mr. Strauss he says: "Durban meat trade deeply perturbed about the crisis in your domestic meat supply. Have therefore dispatched s!b"o’f whale meat by 10-dav's fast train to alleviate the position. Respectfully ask von ration pro rata with the Minister of Finance "
