SEA SCOUT CAMP
REGATTA RESULTS
PICTON HOLIDAY MEET (P.A.) BLENHEIM, Jan. 5. Nearly 200 Sea Scouts from all over the Dominion are attending their first big national camp at Ngakuta Bay. near Picton. and engaged in a variety of activities, including a series of nautical competitions. The camp, which is under the direction of the Dominion Sea Scout Commissioner. Mr. A. J. Black, Dunedin, was to have been inspected yesterday by the Governor-General. Sir Cyril Newall, in his capacity of Dominion Chief Scout, but the visit was cancelled on account of adverse weather. In an inter-troop regatta the new standard boat which has been adopted for all Sea Scouts in New Zealand was used. These boats are 17ft. in length, row four pairs, and are fitted with centreboard and sails. Cornwall Shield, aggregate points for rowing, swimming and rescue with rowing events, was not completed. The leading troops are Scott’s Own and Jellicoe. 2f)pts., and Anderson’s Bay. 20pts.
