SWITZERLAND’S RISK ALLIES STATE DEMANDS STOP AID TO GERMANY (10 a.m.) NEW YORK. Jan. 3. The U.S. Secretary o( State, Mr. Edward Stettinius, referring to the fact that Allied supplies to Switzerland have been cut off, said that the United States’ whole economic relationship with Switzerland is under consideration. T-.e Associated Press learns that U.S. officials are perturbed about delays in the negotiations aimed at halting Swiss aid to Nazis. The partial economic blockade of Switzerland may be converted into virtually total blockade if the Allied demands are not met, says the New York ITerald-Tribune’s correspondent in Washingtop. Critics of Swiss policy believe that the Swiss should do three things if they expect any more imports through the Allied blockade: First, halt virtually all shipments of goods, particularly machinery and armament components to Germany; secondly, halt traffic in goods and persons through Switzerland between the Italian and German borders; thirdly, take militant and satisfactory steps to halt the use of Switzerland as a base for German financial transactions with the outside world and for the concealment of Nazi assets.
