The American air ace, Major Richard Bong, who has returned from the Pacific, told press representatives that he is a better shot since he studied deflection shooting last summer, preparatory to taking an instructing assignment. Major Bong taught his technique to airmen in the Pacific. He said they were shooting better and, in some instances, American pilots had shot down 12 Japanese planes for every one thpy lost. Major Bong’s present score is 40 planes shot down.
