Vichy Papers Discovered
Marshal Polain's personal documents. giving details of the Vichy Government policy since 1940 and foreign relations with Britain and other countries, have been round in a trunk near Vichy, says the British United Press correspondent. The papers reveal that Pelain at the moment of defeat was preparing In return to the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies powers which he had earlier taken .from them. More than 1000 manuscripts, mostly written h.v Pi-tain, Laval. Darlan and Weygand were in the trunk. They included files of the German Riom war guilt trial. The dean of the Algiers Law School is investigating the papers pending the; post-war purge trials.
