B.E.F. ELBOW-ROOM AID FOR PRISONERS SITUATION UNCHANGED (10 am.) The Royal Air Force has dropped medical supplies, blankets, food and cigarettes for British ■risoners on the roads leading north from Athens.

General Scobie’s communique states: ‘‘We have further progressed in the clearing-up of central Athens An insurgent attempt on Sunday to blow up the Greek National. Guard headquarters was frustrated. The situation elsewhere is unchanged. British artillery last night con tinued its harassing fire against roads leading to Athens, reports Reuter s Athens correspondent. Stiff house-to-house fighting went on in Athens esterday, as the British advanced against the perimeter north-east o) Omonia Square. A total of 200 E.L.A.S. troops were taken prisoner, and 41 killed and 42 wounded. An E.L.A.S. counter - attack launched early this morning was beaten oft.
