REVIVAL IN ITALY
FASCIST PROPAGANDA anti-allied" rumours LONDON, Jan. 2 Officials are disturbed by the growing Fascist Fifth Column which is spreading rumours of Allied reverses in Italy and France, says the New York Times’ correspondent in Rome. Clandestine Fascist newspapers, which have sprung up in recent weeks and been widely distributed, have not yet been suppressed Thousands of Fascist leaflets are distributed daily. Slogans are appearing on the walls: “Viva Mussolini!" “Viva Hitler.” The Duce’s recent speech in Milan caused a great sensation Many unthinking Italians were taken in by it.
