PARIS INCIDENT RECALLED (9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 3. Mr. William Robert Chrvstic, one of the recipients of the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours, is the man who once pushed Gocring off the steps of the British Embassy in Paris. This 65-year-old ex-sergeant of the Lancers, was for !5 years doorkeeper at the British Embassy in Paris. When the embassy was vacated in 19-10 before the entry of the Germans. Mr. Chrvstic was left in sole charge. Goering arrived one day in 1941 and demanded admittance. Mr. Chrvstic replied: “This building is protected under international law. You will have to enter it over mv dead body and that goes for Hitler, too.’’ lie pushed Goering off the steps and shut the door in his r,-.ee. He was subsequently arrested and gaoled for five months, but Goering never occupied the embassy.
