PANAMANIAN PRESIDENT ASSEMBLV SUSPENDEI) PANAMA CITY. Dee. 29. The acting-President, Senor Ricardo Adolfo de la Guardia, has suspended the constitution dissolved by the National Assembly and called for elections in May, 1945, to elect a new constitutional Assembly and adopt a new constitution. The United Press explains that the Government is attempting to save itself from the threat that the NationalAssembly, which convenes early in January, will oust the President, who has been in power since October, 19.41, when a coup d’etat overthrew the pro-Axis President, Dr. Arias, who is now in Argentina.
