HIGH CASUALTIES
CANADIAN FORCES CRISIS INEVITABLE LIBERALS’~ARGUMENT (9 a.m.) OTTAWA, Dec. 4. Mr. Ralph Maybank, a Liberal, told the House of Commons that the crisis regarding Canadian Army reinforcements was inevitable, because the infantry casualties were 5000 monthly instead of 2500 expected. Mr. Maybank did not indicate whether the figures were only for the Canadians on the WeSt European front, or included those on the Mediterranean front.
Canadian Army Headquarters has announced that casualties for June and July were 11,550, for August 9338. for September 8445 and for October 7921.
