Indian troops from the State of Nablia, fighting their lirst major action in Italy, played a prominent part in the establishment of a bridgehead over the Roneo River, says Reuter’s correspondent at Allied Headquarters. The Allies had to force their way against : a torrent waist deep and when they reached the west .bank supplies had to be slung across the river on ropes. The crossing of the Ronco has advanced the Eighth Army lines a mile. Other Indian troops seized new positions at Monte Marzailela west of Roeco and San Casciano on the PontassieveForli road.
Heavy rain is still making progress difficult in the lowlands, but the Eighth Army forces on the Adriatic are approaching Ravenna. Brazilian troops on the west coast captured Calonini, two miles west of Gallicano.
