OBITUARY

MR. H. H. O’LOUGHLEN The death occurred suddenly at ins residence in Wairoa yesterday of .Mr. Harold Hugh O’Loughlen, in his earlv fifties. A neighbour visiting Mr O’Loughlen’s residence found that he had passed away, in his sleep. Mrs. O’Loughlen, being absent in Napier at the time, and there was no family. Mr. O’Loughlen went to Wairoa from Pukekohc in 1931 to take up the position of town cleric, and he also acted as secretary of the Wairoa Fire Board, secretary of the Wairoa Patriotic Committee, secretary of the Mayor’s relief fund, and in an executive position on the E.P.S.. whilst he was also one of the trustees for the Centennial Baths fund. In November. 1941. Mr. O’Loughlen was appointed secretary to the Wairoa ElectricPower Board, holding that position al ‘he time of his death. He was very popular with a large section of the community and was a very efficient executive officer, his knowledge o r finances greatly aiding the local bodies he was connected with in rebelling a satisfactory state. He married a member of the Parker family in Gisborne, and Mrs. O’Loughien will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in her •u’dden bereavement.
