LYTTELTON’S ATTITUDE (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 31. The Lyttelton Waterside Workers' Union held a stop-work meeting yesterday morning lasting about an hour. The following resolution was carried: “That, as the, matter of pillaging of cargo has been, brought prominently before the public by the medium of the newspapers and other sources of publicity, this branch of the union desires to state that it does not countenance pillaging. As a branch it* considers it is inimical to the interests 'of members individually and collectively, and the members of the Lyttelton branch arc directed to refrain from interfering, with cargo in the future. If any member of the branch contravenes this resolution and is found guilty of ari offence, the committee of management is authorised to deal with such member or members severely in accordance with the rules Of the union.”
