REICH RAILWAYS HAMM AND MUNSTER OIL plants” attacked (11 a.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 30. More than 800 American heavy bombers to-day attacked industrial and communications targets at dlamm and Munster and oil refineries and processing plants at Hamburg and Harbourg. these Fortresses and Liberators were escorted by more tfian 950 Mustangs and Thunderbolts. In daylight to-day Royal Air Force Lancasters, escorted by spitfires and Mustangs, attached a synthetic oil plant at Wesseiing. nine miles south of Cologne. This plant has a capacity ol 300,uuu tons yearly. Attacks were also made with an escort ol Spitfires on gun emplacements and deiended positions on Walcheren Island.
