PREPARING NEW SITE
The progress of preparing the new site at Uruti, hear New Plymouth, for the next bore to he drilled by the New Zealand Petroleum Company. Limited, is reported in the following report released by the company yesterday:— “The dismantling of the drilling rig at Devon No! 2 well, New Plymouth, has been completed. The road into the site of the new test well at Jrnt: is nearing, completion, and the eousiruction ot foundations for the drilling plant is well advanced.” The, uruti wejl is expected to,he, a deep one, according to a previous report released by the company, which abandoned the. Devon No. - well after a depth of 6177 ft. had been reached. Uruti is 30 miles by air line from New Plymouth and is near the main coastal road, and the -well there will be the fourth attempted by me company during the past five years.
