TILLING MORE LAND
BRITISH PROGRAMME (British Official Wirelceß.) (11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, July 8. The British Government’s primary action in connection with ploughing for the 1944 harvest was stated in the House of Commons by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. R. S. Hudson, as the maintenance of the 1943 peak tillage area. This implied ploughing up additional grassland to take the place of land which it is necessary to re-seed to restore its fertility.
