Chuter Ecle, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education, speaking at a conference on post-war education, said -that it was proposed that, at the ago of 11 years every child should proceed without examination to a secondary school. “We want to educate the child for life, not for examination,” he said. The Committee on Post-War Agricultural Education proposes . big changes in the present system. The committee recommends raising the school leaving age to 15 years and a system of compulsory continuation of education grants to universities to provide a practical course for farmers and a degree course for teachers and advisory officers.
