WAIROA PILOT KILLED
NIGHT-FLYING CRASH (PA.) WELLINGTON, April 10. An airman pilot under training. Leading Aircraftman Ralph James Brownlie, whose father is Mr. J. Brownlie, Wairoa. lost his life in an aircraft accident near a South Island station early yesterday morning when an aircraft crashed during night flying training. Leading Aircraftman Brownlie had been in the air force approximately months. He was 27 years of age, and unmarried. After receiving', his education at Silverstream he took up farming at Frasertown in partnership with his father and brothers. A noted Rugby player, he represented Wairoa find Hawke’s Bay. He was a halfbrother of the All Blacks. The body is being brought to Wairoa for inter-, merit on Sunday.
