NEW ZEALANDER’S LETTER The fact that non-combatant New Zealanders have been among those shackled in prison camps in Germany is revealed by Sergeant E. Everton, son of Mr. and .Mrs. -H. V. Everton, Auckland, in a letter to his parents. Sergeant Everton is in a new camp, Oflag m,C, in Germany, for noncommissioned officers. There arc 250 New Zealanders there.

“The latest farce is that so many prisoners have to .be handcuffed each day,” lie says. “About one-third of us each day are roped up. We have been here long enough now not to let little things like this excite anything but amusement. We do not mind the rope, but we would like to sec some food .packets and mail rolling in again. •Cabbage arid potatoes get boring after :the KriVenth day in the Week, especially as it is only once a day,” Sergeant Everton was a member ol Ihe First New Zealand General Hospital staff when he was taken prisoner.
