In reporting this the Tokio radio said that General Tojo added that her conquests had given Japan resources far superior to Britain’s and America’s and already she had created a solid basis for certain victory. Lieut.-General Fumio O.yama, chief af the War Ministry judicial affairs, told the House of Peers that Japan holds approximately 300,000 war prisoners, of whom 118,000 are white •troops, including Australians, Canadians, Britons, Americans, and Dutch. Most of the prisoners were held in occupied areas, but some were in Japan and Korea.
