MAY WIN IN 1943
AFRICAN VIEW OF WAR FUTURE DEVELOPMENT (II a.m.) CAPETOWN, Feb. 3 “Many South Africans are making pots and pots of money from profits on war contracts,” declared the Minister of Lands, Senator Conroy. “Let the Government see that they disgorge it after the war to help pay for the new way of living we are going to establish here.
"There will be undreamt post-war development of South African industries. Do not be surprised if, before the end of 1943. we will see the war end in total victory for the Allies,” said Senator Conroy. “When South Africa entered the war she had not enough material to keep 10,000 men in the field for two hours, but since has been able to equip 150,000 and produce war material to the value of £200,000.000,”
