MEMORIAL FOR FALLEN
HAMILTON LAKE DOMAIN A suggestion that an area of about 10 acres of high land between the two towers in the Hamilton Lake Domain should be set aside as a memorial park as a token of respect to those Hamilton men who have lost their lives in the present war was discussed at a meeting of the Hamilton Beautifying Society. The chairman, Mr. W. FI. Paul, said that 350 trees were growing in Memorial Park in memory of those who were killed in the last war. He submitted an outline of the scheme for another memorial park at the Lake Domain. Paths would be laid out and there would be an imposing archway with trees planted in groups and so spaced as to afford the best views. The scheme was approved and it was decided to ask the Domain Board to co-operate.
