LIFE SACRIFICED
AMERICAN CONVICT BENEFIT OF TROOPS FULL PARDON GRANTED (11.30 a.m.) BOSTON, Dec. 3. The Massachusetts Executive Council has approved of a posthumous pardon for Arthur St. Germain, aged 27 years, a convict at the .Norfolk State Prison. In submitting .the pardon, the Governor, Mr. .Saltonstall, said that St. Germain, with a full knowledge and understanding of the possible dangers and risks involved, voluntarily submitted to a vitally important research/test involving the. .possible saving of thousands of lives not only on the battlefront -but among society itself. “As St. Germain died that others might live, I hereby grant him a full and complete pardon-for all offences, ’ he added.
