PUHA NEWS
The members of the Pulia Tennis Club held a very successful dance in the Pulm Hall last Saturday evening. There was a large attendance and' ,Mrs. H. White, Mrs. Tepari, Miss N. Coates and Mr. 0. Thompson supplied the music. Mr. R. Contes and Mr. B. Greatbatch acted as M.Cs. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Miss B, Thompson and Mr. R. Greatbatch, and a statue waltz wins won by Miss I. Hodge and Master J. Drummond. The winners of a lucky spot waltz were Miss J. Cameron and Mr. R. Coates. A dainty supper was served on tables artistically decorated with roses and anemones. ;, , The Pulm Tennis Club held the opening of the season last week-end. The weather was favourable and the courts were ill good order. The winners of a Yaukee tournament wore Miss K. Cameron and R. ltichmoud, and the runners-up Misses N. Coates and M. Tail. Other players were Mrs. B. Malone and Misses M. Shelton, B. and D. Thompson. L. Armstrong, E. and A. Pevreal, If. Newton, J. Cameron, M and N. Newing, B. and M. Bay ley and N. Atkins. I iiineln-on ami afternoon tea were served by the ladies. Miss H. Robertson, of the stall of tile Intermediate School, Gisborne, is relieving as head mistress at Puha.—Privates D. Neshausen and G. Church are spending leave in the district.
