PERSONAL
Captain T. E. Bevan, master of the Tarhahine, has been appointed second pilot .to the Bluff Harbour Board. Mrs. S. E. Wilks, Stout street, has received advice that her husband, who has been training in Canada under the Empire air training scheme, has been promoted to the rank of pilot officer.
Mr J. Williams, who has -been manager in Gisborne for Messrs Nelsons (N.Z.) Limited, for the past eight years, has been transferred to a position in the head office in Wellington and expects to leave for the south towards the end of the month.
