GISBORNE CHILDREN GIFT TO BOROUGH MR. PASQUENE’S ESTATE The sum of approximately £I7OO will be made available for the benefit of the children of Gisborne, through the Gisborne Borough Council, from the estate of the late Mr. Michael Pdsqu'Crte'. ‘ ' "" '_ ” Mr. Pfisquene, who died in Gisborne recently, had lived in retirement for some time, and because of his quiet disposition was known only to a small circle of friends. The Public Trustee, as executor of the will, advisds that under the will the whole of the estate is left to the Gisborne Borough Council to be applied by the council for the benefit of the children of Gisborne. The council is given an absolute discretion as to the mariner in which the bequest is to be applied, but the will contains a suggestion that it be utilised in providing children’s playgrounds. The District Public Trustee,' Mr. P. C. Dwyer, advises that the amount to be made available under the bequest is approximately- £I7OO. A meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council’is to be-held this evening, when, no doubt, Official notification will be given of the bequest and consideration given to the disposal of the money to the best advantage.
