N.Z. AIRMAN KILLED
TWO PRISONERS OF WAR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The following Royal New Zealand Air Force casualties were announced last night:— Flight Sergeant James Dudley Gayford Cumming, slightly injured on active service. His father is Mr. W. A. Cumming, Timaru. Pilot Officer John Aitcheson Maguire, slightly injured on active Service. His father is Mr. P. J. Maguire, Milton. Sergeant Frank Thomas Newton, seriously ill. His mother is Mrs. A. Newton, Lake Waitaki. Flying Officer John Williaiif Purcivall, D.F.C., killed on active service. His mother is Mrs. J. W. Blanche, New Plymouth. The following casualties, previously reported, have been reclassified:— Sergeant Kenneth Herbert Doherty, of Otahuhu. removed from the seriously ill list. Sergeant Ralph Graham Humphreys, of Hokianga, previously reported missing, now reported to be a prisoner of war. Pilot Officer Diehard John O’Dea, of H.nvera, removed from the seriously ill list. Pilot Officer Stuart David Parnell, of Wellington, previously reported missing, now reported to bp ft prisoner of war.
