APPEAL FOR COOK
The first appeal on behalf of a woman came before the No. 1 Armed Forces Appeal Board in Hamilton, when a restaurant proprietress asked for the retention of a cook who had been called up for service with the air force. The appellant said she had done her best to replace the cook but had failed to do so. The employee did not appeal, stating that she was willing to work wherever required. The board granted a sine die adjournment of the cook’s service with the air force.
