A fair attendance of players met iif the ICaitaratahi . Hall on W'edhesday evening, when a euchre party in aid of patriotic funds was held. The winners were:— Ladies Mrs, J. Atkins, 1 ; Mrs. M. Wilton, 2, Gentlemen. —Mr, V. Atkins, 1 : Mr. J. Mullooly. 2. A competition was woii by Mrs. Groggan, and after play all partook of an enjoyable supper. Trooper P. Lewis has returned to camp after a brief visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. Bennett. —Mis 3 L. Stewart, Matawai, was the guest of Miss N. Shelton for the week-end— Miss U. CrosswelJ was the week-end guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Crosswell--Staif-Sergeant R. C. Shelton is visiting his parents. A pleasant gathering t9°k place in the Kaitpratahi Hall when residents of the district met to farewell the Shelton family, who are going to reside in Gisborne. Mrs. J. Eira, piano, and Mr. J. Taylor, banjo, supplied the music for the dancing, and Misses N. Coates and J. Tfairprd, and Mr. G. Thomson played extras, Mr. J. Eiru, banjo, accompanied the. following soloists: Miss S. Symon, Masters R. arid B. Mulligan. Mr. L. Crosswell was the M.C. Supper was supplied by the ladies of the district and served by the hall committee from tables prettily decorated with vases of spring flowers. After supper Mr. E, Stone, on behalf of the residents of the district, wished the departing guests good health and happiness and asked them to accept a practical gift. Mi»s M. Shelton replied for the guests and apologised for the absence of her father and brother, who. owing to sickness, could not be present. Miss R. Newton, Puha, was the week-end guest of Miss N. Atkins,
