CONSTRUCTION URGED AMERICAN PROPOSALS (9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug. 11. The Senate sub-committee which is investigating the advisability of constructing cargo planes reported to the Senate the following conclusions: First, the Government should increase the production of medium cargo and troop transport aircraft, using more plywood; secondly, should immediately launch a grand-scale programme of construction of giant cargo and troop transport flying-boats and, thirdly, the highest priorities should be given to the construction of aircraft, both for combat and cargo.
