YOUNG BRITISH GENERAL (10 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. The Daily Telegraph says that Lieut.-General W. H. Gott was killed in action in Libya. General Gott was known as “Straffer.” Aged 45 years, he was one of the youngest generals in the army. He commanded the Seventh Armoured Division, and probably knew more about the Western Desert than any other senior British officer.
