N.Z. NAVAL AWARDS

GALLANT SERVICE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Navy Department has received advice that Stoker Bruce Evans Bennett, a New Zealander, has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for gallant service in successful patrols while serving in the submarine Torbay. The D.S.M. has also been awarded to Able Seamen A. Horsfall, R.N.Z.N., for good service in an attack on enemy ships. Lieut.-Commander R. S. Cameron, R.N.Z.V.R., has been mentioned in despatches for good service in minesweeping.
