TERRIBLE REPRISALS
SLAIN GESTAPO CHIEF 700 BELGRADE VICTIMS (British Official Wireless.) (10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, July 14. Major Helm, chief of the Gestapo in occupied Yugoslavia, has been assassinated, according to information reaching Yugoslav official quarters in London. Major Helm was shot while walking along the street. The reprisals were terrible.' Gestapo agents fired at people walking on the main square of the capital, about 700 being killed.
