BRITISH & CANADIAN AID CHASING SUBMARINES (10.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 3. It is officially announced that many British and Canadian corvettes, destroyers and fully-equipped antisubmarine vessels have been for some time operating with the American forces in the Atlantic, both on escort duty and in the campaign against submarines along the eastern seaboard. A good many of the 50 over-age American destroyers traded to Britain for bases had returned to help to patrol the United States coast.
