Women as Motor Mechanics
It was probably a matter of days before women would be employed in Christchurch as motor mechanics, said the manager of a motor garage, commenting on the news from Invercargill that a woman was employed in the repair shop of'a garage. He said that so far no women had begun this W'ork in civil repair shops in Christchurch as far as he knew, but he was convinced that the time ivas soon coming when women qualified in engineering or experienced' in work with motorcar engines would find jobs in the motor industry.
