PARLIAMENT’S LIFE
GOVERNMENT PLAN PERIOD OF EXTENSION CRITICS AWAITING BILL (P.R.) WELLINGTON, this day. Considerable interest is being taken in .the question of whether the Government intends to adhere to the proposal to extend the life of the present Parliament for the duration of the war and 12 months afterwards. It is well known in the lobbies thal the critics are fairly numerous Therefore, the bill which is to be introduced this session will be very closely watched, and there appears to be a strong possibility of the House being divided unless the Government gives way by providing for a periodical review regardless of the length of the war.
