GISBORNE MARRIAGES Marriage notices in Gisborne during the first half of the year were down to almost half the number reported for the first half of last year, the figures being 58 and 103 respectively. Deaths were lower, while there was also a slight reduction in births for the same period. For the past month .there was an increase in the number of births registered in Gisborne, the total being 46, against 38 in June last year. Deaths remained unaltered at 18, while marriage notices totalled only nine, compared with 15 a year ago.
