INLAND IN AUSTRALIA PLANTS NEARLY FINISHED DECENTRALISATION PLAN (9.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, July 2. A vast programme of construction of munition factories in country districts is being carried out throughout Australia, said the Minister of Munitions, Mr. N. J. Makin. One of the factories being built in New South Wales will be the second largest in the Southern Hemisphere'. AbouDlO factories are being built in New South Wales, five in Victoria and the others in South Australia and Western Australia. v : The largest factory will- employ about 12,000 and will be in production by the end of the year. Many of the plants are approaching completion. They are not near the. coast. The whole programme of decentralisation was highly satisfactory and would provide Australia and Allied troops with a huge and varied quantity of munitions and equipment.
