CZECH TOWN’S NAME
ADOPTION IN AMERICA (10.40 a.m.) NEW YORK, June 30 The little town of Stern Park Gardens, in Illinois, has decided to adopt the name of Lidice, which the Axis razed in Czechoslovakia as a reprisal for the harbouring of the assassins of Heydrich. The residents are raising funds for the erection of a monument with a perpetual flame symbolising the light of liberty that Americans are determined to preserve.
