Pursuant to Section 120 of “The Counties Act, 1920,” and Section 2 ol “The Counties Amendment Act, 1931,” and Sections 51/59 of “The Rating Act, 1925” and amendments thereto, Notice is hereby given that the Cook County Council will, at a Meeting to be held on Wednesday, 15th July, 1942, in the Council Chambers, Childers Road, Gisborne, N.Z., make and levy a General Rate of sd. (fivepence) in the £1 over the whole of the rateable properties in the County of Cook on the Unimproved rateable value of the County. This rate is to cover administration, interest and other charges on Loans over the whole County; Hospital Levy. General maintenance of Roads and Bridges; the Council’s proportion ol cost of subsidised works. On the same date and at the same place the Council, in terms of Section 123 of “The Counties Act, 1920,” will make and levy a Sanitation Rate by way of a uniform charge of £2 12s Od. per annum upon such properties a: have dwelling's thereon, within the Whataupoko, Kaiti and Wainui Area; of the County. On the same date and at the same place the Council will, in terms 0! j Section 167 sub-section (2). of “The [Counties Act, 1920,” make and levy a [Drainage Rate of'if of Id. in the £1 over the properties in the Maraetahe and Te Kuri'Drainage District, and t Drainage Rate of g of Id. in the £3 over the properties in the Homebush Drainage District; further rates on tin classified basis equivalent to if of Id in the £1 on the Capital value of the properties in the Taurau Valley Specia Drainage District; and the Lavenham Special Drainage District. Each of the above-mentioned rates is for the period commencing on the Ist day of. April, 1942. and ending on the 31st day of March, 1943, 'and is due and payable at the Office of the County on the 28th day of July, 1942. Annual recurring Special Rates will also appear on the Rate- Demands. A rebate of 3if . percentum will be allowed on all General Rates for the year 1942/43 paid and received in the Office of the County within 30 days of the date of the Demand. 10% additional rate will be added to all rates for the year 1942/43 which are outstanding and unpaid after the expiration of 6 months and 14 days from the Idate of the demand. ' The Valuation Rolls and Rate Book of the County have been prepared and are open for inspection, withoffi fee, by all Ratepayers, during ordinary office'hours.
