AUSTRALIAN ENVOY

WAR SUPPLIES CONTACT VISIT TO BRITAIN & U.S. (Q am) CANBERRA, July 1. It is expected that the Federal Government after the Budget session will consider sending another Cabinet Minister to visit Allied countries as a special envoy. In view of the paramount importance of war supplies, the Minister of Supply, Mr. J. Beasley, is the most likely Minister to be selected for such a mission. It is claimed that part of the value of the recently-concluded trip of Dr. H V. Evatt will be lost if the contacts he made are not sustained. The Government is believed to favour the rotation system to permit senior Ministers, in turn, to make direct contact with the Allied nations and see for themselves the British and United States war effort.
