CHANGE IN COMMAND
AUCHINLECK TAKES OVER (10 a.m.) LONDON, June 30. The Prime Minister, Mr. Winstoji Churchill, in the House of Commons, said that General Sir Claud Auchinleck had decided on Thursday tc assume personal command of the
Eighth Army in succession to General Neil Ritchie. Immediately General Auehinleck had informed the Government of his decision, the Government conveyed its approval. “I do not propose to make a statement to-day on the momentous battle now being fought in Egypt,” he added.
